DIY: Biscuit Roulade

Dear friends,

I think it was about time for another DIY ;) And today we shall indulge ourselves into making the most easiest sweet ever! It is called "Biscuit Roulade" - or at least I call it like that ;))) And can be done in a couple of ways and the ingredients may (slightly) vary, so you can be always creative with this recipe :)
What you need to have is:
  1. 500 ml of milk (not yogurt! and it can be around 2-3% fat)
  2. around 500 gr biscuits (that can crush nicely)
  3. raisins(or almonds or pumpkin seeds or whatever you like/wish)
  4. 100-150 gr of chocolate (you can pick what type of choco, accordingly to your taste)
  5. almond extract or any other type of essence you may wish :)
What you need to do now is sit comfortable and open your TV/Desktop/Laptop and put some music on or watch a movie while you will do the next step, as this will take a lot of time and manual work... What you will need to do is put all the biscuits in a huge bowl and start crushing them manually :)
YES! That is right! Fun time! Manually crush each biscuit into small pieces - it is alright if you have a bit bigger and if they are not even, they will help the composition stay into place. You do not need it to be all a powder, but rather small/tiny and uneven parts ;)
Next step is to start boiling the milk and bit by bit adding the chocolate that you selected.
You need to stir the pot continuously because if not, the chocolate may stick to the bottom of the pot or the composition will be uneven... it has to look like hot chocolate, my friends! And when you see it bubble a bit, like in the picture below, you can also add the raisins and stir everything up for around 5 more minutes.
After the 5 minutes, you need to pour the hot choco milk and raisins over the crashed/crunched biscuits :) and stir and stir and stir until the milk and raisins are homogenous with the crumbs of the late biscuits. If you are not sure of the equality of the composition and if it is your first time, you can forget about the spoon and just do this with your bare hands so you can feel if there are any crumbs that were not soaked in the choco milk and raisins heaven :)
Last step is to let them calm a bit - around 5 to 10 minutes - and start wrapping them up in tin foil :) and leave them to chill in the kitchen and after a while put them in the fridge to cool down :) If you do this in the evening you can cut them the next day :) even for breakfast ;)

Hope you enjoyed the recipe and let me know how it goes ;)
Yours truly,
The DIY Wannabe Ladybug :p

Eighteen-year-old companion trainee Ciardis Weathervane has won the friendship of the royal heir and saved his claim to the throne. Yet her interference in the inheritance rights leaves more harm done than good. With the death of the Princess Heir, the Ameles forest – the home of the kith, is dying.
The inhabitants of the forest, magic-wielding non-humans, are defiant. They have not forgotten their long struggles nor are they content to watch as the last of their lands perish. As humans begin to die in gruesome deaths, the Emperor dispatches the royal heir to the forests with the solution to the kith concerns.
With enemies closing ranks in Sandrin, Ciardis can little afford to leave the city’s nest of vipers to take on a new task. But she’s given no choice when her loyalty to the crown and courts are called into question.
To keep the Companions’ Guild happy and the favor of the Imperial Court, Ciardis will be tested in frightening new ways, especially when she’s faced with an obstacle that could risk the lives of her friends and the family she never thought she had.

Seven Great Things in Your Life
1. My family. I am proud of my parents and my grandparents and my sister and I would not have chosen a different family to be born in :)
2. My awesome fiancee - I am proud of him as he is extremely smart and wicked (in a good sense, that it!). I am proud he has so much patience he could move mountains :)
3. I am proud of the places I visited until now and the things I have learned from my travels alone but also in a group, with friends, with family or with my fiancee. Traveling pushes ones limits!
4. The fact that I made the JUMP!I made it and I came to live here, in Krakow - Poland. I am proud for not being afraid to make this step and I am happy that it brought me closer to my destiny :)
5. My friends- even though they are scattered all over the world, we still keep in contact through all the means possible (Blog, Facebook, Email, Skype... you name it! I got it ;) ) and they are always there for me.
6. My Blog - yes! I am! I am proud that I managed to start again the blog and I am happy I met so many awesome people though it. The Media environment may be addictive but it does put a smile on my face ;) Guilty as charged!
7. Our Book & Movie Collection :) Mine and my fiancee :) We could open a store :))) We just prefer to have the book/movie we love close in hand if we wanna re-watch/re-read it :) And in that way we also support the things we love and we consider good (P.S. I must admit I do have a quite extensive full shelve of DVDs with Period Movies).

Seven Things You Lack and Covet
1.A Perfect Wedding, where everyone would be happy and have the  most awesome time ever! + the Perfect Wedding Photos... I know... I know... Everyone wants that!
2.A house/apartment with 3 rooms (4 would be brilliant... more space...) for my new family - I am thinking in advance: my fiancee and me + when the babies come they would need their place as well... right?!
3.Health! For me and my entire family + friends :) I wish them all the health in the world! And it would be so nice not to have any pains and weaknesses...
4.Winning At The Lotto Or Having Someone Donate Their Fortune To Me :p So I could go to point 5 ;)
5.Traveling The Whole World - Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America... even the North and South Pole! Heck! Yes! Everywhere the man can put its foot, I wanna be there! I wanna go there!
6.More time - to do all the things I would wish for... Yes... Who doesn't want to live forever?! Which brings me to number 7...
7. Better relationship with God... I somehow feel I am letting Him down...

Seven Things that Make You Angry
1.The fact that I cannot have all the people I love and I want to have next to me in one place... I just wish I would have one big block of flats where I could put everyone my heart desires so they would be in walking range and I could just drop by whenever I wanted...
2.Queues and people who believe they can skip the line - because they know someone, because they payed, because they think they are slick and worth it, because they "have just one question"... yeah! right! And I was born yesterday!(yeah... I know my Bday was just a few days ago, but you get my meaning!)
3.Politicians - they tend to lie and lie and lie... and steal and think that they own the World!
4.People who think they own the world and think that they are kings and step on other people and destroy their souls and their life. People who care not of other people...
5.People who cannot forgive... There is a difference between forgiving and forgetting, my friends!
6.Tools that work slow, people who are slow... and disrupt my work and make schedules fall down and projects lost due to that...
7.People who love/like to kiss other people arses in order to get better salary/different grade... you know... advancing in your career not based on your work and what you are work, but rather on how good friends and on what terms you are with the boss...

Seven Things that You Neglect to Do
1.I never floss... I know, gross... But I would rather brush my teeth 1000 time than floss... that tiny string just scares me somehow... I know it tastes minty and nice but it does not help!
2.Work out... I always liked going to the gym... getting there is the issue. I loved the place where I used to do yoga for a year and it was the most awesome period for my muscles. I do it nowadays also very rarely... I somehow rather prefer reading or watching a movie or going out than doing that...
3.Steam/Iron Clothes - heck! If there is no need to do that, why bother with the heat :p
4.Cooking - I admit! I do not know how to cook! I know some basic things, like scrambled eggs (my fiancee loves my version of scrambled eggs and I am proud of that!) or like liver with onion and "mamaliga" (traditional Romanian dish) but other than that my fiancee does the "heavy cooking" :)
5.Talk to my Mum/Dad/Sister/Grandma/Grandpa more often... I wish I could talk to them everyday but somehow I always get caught up in work and the day to day things that I barely have any time left...
6.Analyzing every word and every situation and seeing things as either white or black...I need to remind myself on a daily basis that life is not just white and black there is also gray and when I mean gray I mean also different shades and ways in which one can look on life...
7.Talk to God - I know I should do it more often yet I catch myself at the end of the day without doing it...

Seven Worldly Material Desires
1.A Perfect House for my fiancee and our new family :) It would be awesome if it would have a living attic and a real fireplace. With a garden and some trees, and a hammock.
2.A puppy to go with the big house and he will be our protector ;)) Either a Husky or a Labrador or a Chow Chow or a Sharpei. Eh! Why not all of them?!
3.An unlimited amount of airline tickets for me and my extensive family + hosting at hotels/hostels all over the world to match it ;)
4.A photo course with specialists + new camera body + new lenses to go with that ;p
5.A lifetime supply of chocolate for my awesome fiancee as he is a huge fan of it :)
6. no ideas for number 6 and 7... maybe I do have but they just don't pop in my mind... Sorry! :(

2.Period Books <3
3.Period Movies
4.Star Wars - watching and re-watching it all over again ;)))

How To Do A Pre-Proposal

Dear friends,

I shall share with you a story today also in the VGA version :) Due to the fact that I was cleaning up my phone card I bumped into some very old pictures that brought back very nice memories that I wish to share with you. On the 29th of April 2012 these pictures were taken inside 2 airports: the Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest and the Chopin International Airport in Warsaw.
I believe - if my memory serves me right - that it was my fiancee's first trip to Romania :) I came for 2 weeks and he came for one (my last week) so we could leave for Krakow in the same day. Unfortunately, as we took the plane tickets in different days we did not get the same plane back. He was the first one to leave and I had to wait in the airport for about 4 hours. But actually I do not mind that! I love airports! And if I could get stuck somewhere it would not be a bus or a train station but an International Airport, please :)
The trip to Romania was awesome for my fiancee and he admits he loves Iasi (and I DID NOT! force him to say that and he said it from the bottom of his heart, more than once! What can I say?! I have an adorable family and cute town ;) ha!). He fell in love with me even more and with my family around :) When we came to the airport (very early in the morning, around 5 am...) we had to wait for the flight he had and because we were both hungry after the hours by train... (yes... the train from Iasi to Bucharest takes a while...) we went to the Restaurant that opened around 7 and ordered a typical American breakfast: Eggs Benedict :) Either they were just purely awesome or we were really starving :p But while we were there... He asked me what I would say if He would ask for my hand... what would I say if He asked me to marry him? Sincerely I knew this was coming, as we were talking about marriage and engagement for a long while... He was just so cute! He said he was so in love that he would have to propose to me then :)
We used to play around with this idea, and during the week he was there, while we were out, he even proposed to me with a ring made out of a drinking straw ;))) But he was so serious in the airport :) I said that I would, I would marry him, but in order to make sure of that he would need to ask me again when he will have the ring fit for asking... Now that I think of it, this sounded so very materialistic of me! And I am not a bit like that! :) I was just teasing him and doing this all in good fun. And of course he knew that ;)
After the pre-proposal (as I called it) we continued talking on about the engagement and the wedding and making plans. And I must admit he is awesome at that! Nothing fails him :) After a while it was time to go and the 2 pictures above are with his plane... I waved him goodbye, the plane took off, and there I was, alone in the airport with around 4 hours to go until my boarding time...
So I started wondering around the airport to see the latest changes (and I must admit they were quite a few and the airport changed in time since the first time I was there, somewhere in 2007, when I was coming back from USA). I was in a mood for sweets so... You can find Brioche Doree at Facebook or on their site, right HERE :) I found it at the airport, by mistake/chance and I am thinking of those sweets until today :) I had the Lemon Tart with make me mouth-water even now, when I remind myself of it :)
To spent time right I also bought a Marie Claire (my fav magazine in the World!) along with the Wall Street Journal I found on the bench ;))) and I started reading and enjoying my awesome lemon tart that I wished it would last forever and a day! It was all rainbows and unicorns! Like a tart should be :)
Also, the first plane was not the end of the trip. The Flight was Bucharest - Warsaw - Krakow. So after the international flight I also had to wait about 2 hours in Warsaw Airport for the domestic flight until Krakow :))) A whole lot of fun, I'm telling you, to get from Krakow to Iasi... It never gets below half a day! ;)
So by the time you reach Warsaw you can get hungry - hence some Chinese food is in order ;)

Yours truly,
the Pre-Proposed-In-An-Airport LadyBug :)

London Through VGA Lens

Dear friends,

I was cleaning through my photos from my phone and here is what I bumped into! In June last year (2012) I went for a 5 day trip to Amazing London with my amazing polish friend Magda :) She was a sweetheart and even though this was not her first time in London she had patience with me, as we both discovered London's wonders :) It was an awesome trip and I will tell you probably more of it another time but this time I will show you a short preview - the photo's taken by my VGA cell phone so excuse the quality :)
Even though I had the camera open and working and hanging around my neck/arm there were moments in which I would just let it all sink in and put the camera in the bag. Then something interesting (at least for me) would appear and I had to be fast so... CLICK! went the phone camera, always there - always ready :)
I admit we went there by mistake in one of London's busiest moments: The Queen's Diamont Jubilee! But I never will regret that, even a tiny bit! The whole city was looking so festive and cheerful that if my fiancee was not waiting for me home I would have certainly stayed there :p Most of all I loved the Tube - the advertising, the people playing inside, the names of the stations... I loved how fast it went from one corner of the city to the other and I loved seeing so many cultures "trapped" under the same roof :)
I loved the buildings, the skyscrapers even though - if you ever visited NYC you will know what I am saying - they should not be called like that :p I loved the bustle, the people walking in a million ways to a million errands but yet somehow London has also this soft and bohemian side... The side that reminds me of Shakespeare and Sherlock Holmes... It is all a mess but such a beautiful one! :) At least for me! ;)
They have loads of bicycles too ;)
It was also the first time I ate the real deal "fish and chips" and also for dinner, one day, we went to a pub and watched a bit of football (I have no recollection whatsoever who was playing... but that did not matter! I was in a pub! Watching football!!!) and we had the most awesome ever hamburger and chips and beer!!! I just remember it was somewhere near the Tower Of London & Tower Bridge... but I cannot remember the name... I swear!
This is one of the views from outside the place, a couple or so meters away...
More Tube Fun Advertisment + The Funny Looking Tower That I Cannot Remember The Name...
Inside the tunnel, under the Thames River - I LOVED IT!!! Wanna "go deep under" again! :)
(Excuse the weird man creeping out in the corner of the photo... there were so many people that it was really hard to take a decent photo, without anyone in the frame...)
Need to come back and visit Museums! Did not visit one! :o And this is a first for me!
Fish and chips for lunch ;)
If you look closely, you will see me, waiting outside the pub, waiting for the beer and my friend to come :)
By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show. - Samuel Johnson
Of course I HAD TO!!! I had to enter Primark and buy cute stuff there :p It is impossible not to! I got myself colorful socks, cute undies, a pair of tennis shoes I really feel comfy in, 2 t-shirts for my lovely fiancee :) (one with Guinness and one with the London's lion symbol) and most lovely of them all: my pony t-shirt (insert here smiles, rainbows, pony and unicorns and a shower of flowers... yeeeeeeeeeeey!).
And (Thank you God!) I managed to also find the BBC version of "North & South" and "Pride and Prejudice" and I bought it immediately, along with "Downfall" which was on my "To See" list :) It is about the last days of Hitler and as I am extremely interested in the Second World War topic it is needless to say how happy I was with my purchase :)

Yours truly,
The London/UK Fan LadyBug :)
